Dr. Conte M. Terrell is one of the nation’s most sought after Domestic Violence Recovery Experts who is an ordained minister, an electrifying speaker, counselor, coach; coveted author and talk/radio personality! After surviving a ten-year marriage to a physically abusive spouse,she launched Fresh Spirit Wellness for Women Inc. in 1997, a non-profit organization for women, youth and families challenged by the crisis of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Her nonprofit organization is the oldest African American, female founded Domestic Violence agency in Harris County, the most populous county in Texas and the 3rd largest in the United States. She holds a Doctoral degree in counseling and has assisted thousands of women, couples and families in overcoming and healing from toxic and abusive relationships, while teaching them how to attract healthy relationships. She has received countless honors and awards for her outstanding leadership, community service and humanitarian acts of kindness, including but not limited to The Inspire Women Award, YMCA Community Leadership Award, The Amazing Woman of the year Award, The Woman of Distinction Award, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives, and The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, she's also been featured in Glamour Magazine, three issues of Who’s Who in Black Houston, and received her own day and a Proclamation from the Mayor of Houston.
